L'Art Moderne Galerie

L’Art Moderne Galerie has been focusing on “3D” metallurgic art for decades, on tasteful masterpieces of Grand Art from the 20th century, created via both traditional and modern procedures of sculpture and silversmith’s trade: either “pièces uniques” or works made in very limited editions (“design”).

Our exhibited collections include in particular large decorative wall plates, opulent cassettes, mural works of art, decorative trays, but also represent other splendid home furnishing objects like statuettes, vases, and even sculptures or paintings. Bronze, copper and silver, furthermore fire enamel can be mentioned as primary applied materials.

L’Art Moderne Galerie offers extraordinary works of art from outstanding artists representing the Zenith of the modern Hungarian sculpture and silversmith’s art, like Margit Tevan, Sándor Móga, László Szlávics (senior), József Pölöskei, Sándor Légrady and Lajos Pál from the 20th century.

The career of each acknowledged artist is special since they pursued both sculpture and silversmith’s art during their active decades, sometimes transitioning to painting at the end of their prolific careers.

We are present in the heart of Budapest, and also available in France or Monaco from time to time, for international art events or for ad hoc art business occasions. Due to formal cooperations with Spanish and French associating (partner) galleries, some masterpieces are regularly presented and exhibited at Italian and U.S. art fairs.

UNIVERSE OF METALLURGY

We believe that the masterpieces made of metal represent high value where hard work, endurance and talent of the artist lead him/her to success and discovering his/her own style, leaving real heritage behind.

Main impacts arrive also from the audience: the feedback of the collectors definitely influences our work and future direction of the offers. Our mission is both to meet the delicate palette and to provide personal artistic expression.

For this purpose we exhibit works made by the combination of traditional and modern technology to give shape to the raw material: extreme temperature to cast the metal after fusing; soldering or brazing pieces to each other under narrow flame; forming the metal into the imagined shape, coating the workpiece with pure silver via galvanisation. The result is always a unique, hand-made article, mapping some part of the reality.

We offer up-to-date works of art to our visitors.

works Formed by human hand

Modern consumer society tends to require mass-production on several fields of the product market.

We are convinced that the field of Art is – and always will be – different!

Art must be made, formed and finished by individual human hand. Each piece of art remembers the thoughts, happiness or sorrow and worries, even every breather of the artist and the designer. We supply this experience. It’s uplifting.
